This is me
Hi! My name is Olivia and I have Bachelors degree in Political Science from Ryerson University I recently graduated from a Masters of degree in International Public Policy specializing in human security and the environment from Laurier University. Some of the skills and experiences that I gained from my masters was writing a policy brief focusing on the impacts of climate change and migration in the Great Lakes region between Canada and the U.S. Presenting the policy brief I wrote in front of Global Affairs Canada, learning R programing and SPSS, and learning about different quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
During my masters degree I did further research on issues around climate mobility and migration. I developed a specialization on the topic of climate migration in regards to human trafficking and migrant smuggling. I am now currently applying for another masters degree in refugee studies or global development so I can do more research on climate migration. After I am done with my other masters I will be working for a bit focusing on getting jobs in public policy, academia, the think tank industry, nonprofit or the private sector. From there I will pursue a PhD based on international relations or migration studies so I can become a professor in the near future.
I am currently building up my skills and experience within this area in regards to doing volunteering, internships, and personal development projects
